In the 1980\u2019s when vinyl records were taken over by CD\u2019s and our focus was on turntable needles, we held an employee \u201cidea contest\u201d to create a breaking new product; the result was a toy sushi maker for children. In 1984, we combined the audio turntable concept and the toy sushi maker to create \u201cASM50 Nigirikko,\u201d the world\u2019s first automatic sushi maker for home use, prompting the special machinery division AUTEC to be born.<\/p><p><em>Nigirikko <\/em>allowed consumers to have one machine that easily made<em> shari<\/em> (sushi rice) and mold it into nirigi rice balls which became an instant country-wide success. As sales continued to rise, we received numerous inquiries of \u201cif and when\u201d an industrial-use model would be coming out. Impossible to ignore, our development team quickly went into work automating <em>Nigirikko\u2019s<\/em> shari mechanisms and created AUTEC\u2019s first sushi robot for industrial use that produced 900 nigiri rice balls per hour.<\/p><p>Today, AUTEC\u2019s sushi robot line has expanded from <a href=\"https:\/\/sushimachines.com\/our-products\/#nigiri\">Nigiri robots<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/sushimachines.com\/our-products\/#maki\">Maki<\/a> (for roll type) robots, <a href=\"https:\/\/sushimachines.com\/onigiri-maker-545\/\">Omusubi<\/a> (rice balls) robots, <a href=\"https:\/\/sushimachines.com\/our-products\/#automation\">sushi conveyor belts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sushimachines.com\/our-products\/#shari\">sushi rice mixers<\/a> to meet the unique needs of businesses from 50 countries around the world.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Story We began our journey in 1962 as Audio-Technica an audio equipment manufacturer in Tokyo, Japan.
